Ingredients

2 c. butter
2 c. sugar
4 c. sifted flour
4 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. cloves
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. sour cream
1/2 c. chopped nuts
Preparation

Cream butter with sugar.
Sift flour with spices, salt and soda. Add alternately with sour cream to the creamed mixture.
Add nuts. Knead together well. Shape into several loaves.
Wrap in wax paper and chill in refrigerator overnight (will keep for weeks in freezer!).
Slice and bake in a 375\u00b0 oven or until browned.
I sprinkle the chilled loaf with red or green sugar before baking.
