Nut Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. butter
    2 c. sugar
    1/4 tsp. salt
    8 oz. (1/2 lb.) candied pineapple
    1/2 lb. candied cherries
    6 eggs
    1 tsp. baking powder
    4 c. plain flour
    1 lb. pecans
    2 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Cream butter and sugar.
    Add beaten eggs.
    Add 3 cups flour, baking powder and salt.
    Add vanilla.
    Mix remaining cup flour with fruit and nuts.
    Stir into batter.
    Pour in greased and paper-lined tube pan.
    Bake at 250\u00b0 for 3 hours.
    Let cool in pan.
    My family prefers this to regular fruitcake.
