Date Loaf Candy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1 Tbsp. margarine
    1 lb. pitted dates
    1 c. lite cream
    1 Tbsp. white Karo syrup
    2 c. chopped pecans
Preparation
    Cook milk, sugar and Karo to soft ball stage.
    Add margarine and dates; chopped fine.
    Stir until dates melt.
    Beat until it begins to harden; then add nuts.
    Pour all into a wet cloth and roll up.
    Let set overnight.
    When cold, slice end ways and roll in powdered sugar.
