Peanut Butter Blossoms - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 3/4 c. flour
1 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. peanut butter
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1 unbeaten egg
2 Tbsp. milk
1 tsp. vanilla

Preparation

Cream shortening, peanut butter and sugars together.
Sift flour, soda and salt together and blend with creamed mixture.
Add remaining ingredients and mix thoroughly.
Shape by teaspoonfuls into balls.
Roll in sugar and place on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 375\u00b0 for 8 minutes.
Remove from oven and place a Hershey's Kiss on top of each cookie, pressing down so that cookie cracks around edge.
Return to oven and bake 2 to 5 minutes longer.
Makes 3 dozen.
