Chewy Pralines - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. sugar
    1 pt. cream
    3 sticks butter (the real thing!)
    3 c. white Karo syrup
    1 Tbsp. salt (level)
    2 qts. pecans
    1 Tbsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Cook in large pot everything except vanilla and pecans.
    Bring to a boil over low heat.
    Stir constantly.
    Cook until it forms almost a hard ball (243\u00b0) on candy thermometer.
    Remove and add pecans and vanilla.
    Pour into greased pan (13x9).
    When cold, cut into squares.
