Smitty'S Creamy Clam Chowder - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. chopped onion
    4 Tbsp. butter
    1 Tbsp. flour
    2 (13 oz.) cans evaporated milk
    1/2 c. whole kernel corn (optional)
    2 (6 1/2 oz.) cans chopped clams
    1 c. frozen Southern-style hash browns
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. pepper
Preparation
    Saute onion in butter until soft.
    Blend in flour.
    Let bubble for a minute.
    Stir in milk, mixing until heated through and slightly thickened.
    Add clams, potatoes and seasonings.
    Cook over low heat for 15 minutes.
    Do not boil.
