Mainstay French Toast - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. brown sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 c. butter
    1 loaf sliced white bread
    2 Tbsp. syrup
    2 dashes nutmeg
    2 tart apples, peeled and sliced
    10 to 12 eggs
    1 1/2 c. milk, light cream of evaporated milk
Preparation
    Cook sugar, butter and syrup until thick.
    Pour into oven baking dish or pan.
    Spread apples on top.
    Whisk remaining ingredients and pour over bread slices which have been placed on top of apples.
    Cover and refrigerate overnight Bake at 325\u00b0 for 40 to 45 minutes, uncovered.
