Chewy Caramels - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    3/4 c. corn syrup
    1/2 c. margarine
    2 c. evaporated milk
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Combine all ingredients but 1 cup milk and vanilla.
    Bring to boil.
    Stir in milk slowly so as not to stop boiling.
    Boil to fairly firm, hard ball or 250\u00b0.
    Add 1 teaspoon vanilla; pour into buttered 3/4-inch pan.
    Cool, then cut.
