Old Fashion Oatmeal Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. milk
    2 c. quick oats
    1/4 c. brown sugar
    1 Tbsp. salt
    2 Tbsp. shortening
    1 pkg. yeast
    1/2 c. warm water
Preparation
    Scald milk.
    Stir in oats, brown sugar, salt and shortening. Cool to lukewarm.
    Sprinkle yeast on warm water; stir to dissolve. In large bowl, mix 2 cups flour with milk mixture and yeast.
    Add enough flour to form soft dough.
    Knead on floured board 8 to 10 minutes.
    Let rise again (1/2 hour).
    Pour out on board; knead gently.
    Shape into 2 loaves.
    Let rise (1/2 hour).
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 40 minutes.
