Cranberry-Cheese Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. flour
1 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. soda
1/4 tsp. salt
2 tsp. grated orange peel
2 Tbsp. shortening
juice from 1 orange
1 1/2 c. shredded low-fat Cheddar cheese (about 6 oz.)
1 egg or egg substitute
1 c. cranberries, halved
1/2 c. finely chopped walnuts
Preparation

Heat oven to 350\u00b0.
Grease loaf pan, 9 x 5 x 3-inch.
Measure flour, sugar, baking powder, soda, salt and peel into bowl.
Cut in shortening.
Add water to juice to measure 3/4 cup; mix in with cheese and egg.
Stir in cranberries and nuts.
Pour into pan. Bake 60 to 70 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean.
Remove from pan; let loaf stand at least 8 hours.
Makes 18 slices.
