Calypso Pie - cooking recipe
Ingredients

18 to 20 Oreo cookies
1/4 c. softened butter
3 oz. unsweetened chocolate
1/4 c. butter
2/3 c. sugar
1/8 tsp. salt
2/3 c. evaporated milk
1 tsp. vanilla
3 drops almond extract
2 pt. chocolate or coffee ice cream, softened
1 pt. chilled whipping cream
2 Tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped nuts
Preparation

Crush Oreo cookies in bowl.
Blend in softened butter.
Put in pie plate and chill 2 hours.
Melt unsweetened chocolate and butter in top of double boiler.
Remove from heat.
Stir in 2/3 cup sugar and salt until blended.
Gradually add evaporated milk and blend well.
Return to heat, stirring constantly for 4 minutes.
Remove from heat.
Stir in vanilla and almond extract.
Cool and chill for 1 hour.
