5 Tbsp. butter
2 large baking apples, peeled and sliced
1 c. brown sugar
2 Tbsp. dark corn syrup
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
3 large eggs
1 c. milk
1 tsp. vanilla
8 slices French bread, each 1 inch thick and 4 inches wide
Preparation

The day before, prepare apples and French bread by melting butter in skillet and cooking apples until tender. Add brown sugar, corn syrup and cinnamon. Cook until sugar dissolves. Pour apple mixture into a 9 x 13 inch pan and spread evenly. Arrange bread slices on top. In a bowl, beat eggs, milk and vanilla, and pour over bread slices. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
