Tarts - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    flour
    1/2 tsp. soda
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    4 Tbsp. peanut oil
    3/4 c. buttermilk
    fruit (fried peaches, apples, figs, etc.)
    oil (for frying)
Preparation
    Sift flour into a large bowl.
    Make a hole in the center.
    Dip up a small portion of the flour in the sifter. Add the soda, baking powder and salt. Sift together into the hole made in the flour.
    Pour in the peanut oil and buttermilk; mix to a dough stiff enough to roll out into small round pieces.
    Place enough fruit on the circle to fill one side. Turn the other side over. Press down with a fork.
    Fry in hot oil.
