Popcorn Balls - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 c. corn syrup
    1 c. water
    1/4 tsp. salt (optional)
    3 qt. popped corn
Preparation
    In a quart saucepan, combine sugar, syrup and water.
    Bring to boil over medium heat.
    Reduce heat; cook until candy thermometer reaches 280\u00b0 or candy forms a ball when dropped in cold water. Remove from heat.
    Add salt.
    Pour over popcorn; stir to coat well.
    Shape into balls with buttered hands.
    Makes 12 popcorn balls.
