Basic Basil Tomato Sauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 small onion, chopped
    2 cloves garlic, chopped fine
    3 Tbsp. olive oil
    1 (28 oz.) can crushed tomatoes (Hunt's Angelomia)
    1 (15 oz.) can Hunt's ready tomato sauce (chunky Italian)
    1/2 can water (large can)
    1/2 tsp. sugar
    1/4 tsp. red pepper
    3 Tbsp. fresh basil or 1 Tbsp. dried basil
Preparation
    In large saucepan, saute onion and garlic in hot oil over medium heat until tender.
    Add undrained tomatoes, sugar, crushed red pepper, water and 1/4 teaspoon salt.
    Bring to boil, reduce heat and cook 45 minutes, stirring often until thick.
    Add basil and cook 1 more minute.
    Serve over pasta.
