Mama'S Peanut Butter Candy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. sugar
    1 c. Karo syrup
    1 pt. peanut butter
    2 c. water
    3 egg whites
    1/4 lb. butter
Preparation
    Put
    peanut butter and butter in double boiler and heat so it will
    spread easily.
    Put 3 cups sugar, 1 cup water and Karo syrup in one vessel to cook.
    Put other cup of sugar and 1 cup
    water in\tanother
    vessel.
    When\tfirst vessel is done enough to\tcrack against
    a glass when dropped in cold water, pour
    slowly over stiffly beaten egg whites.\tBeat until other vessel gets done, then pour it in, beating constantly.
