Rice Pudding - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 1/2 c. scalded milk
    1/3 c. sugar
    1/4 c. uncooked rice
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. nutmeg
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 Tbsp. butter
Preparation
    Heat the oven to 325\u00b0.
    Combine all ingredients in a 1-quart casserole.
    Bake about 2 hours.
    When pudding has baked 30 minutes, stir in the brown upper crust.
    Stir in the crust twice more during baking.
    Makes 4 to 6 servings.
