Italian Meat Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. cooked elbow macaroni
    1/4 c. butter
    2 medium onions, chopped
    1 lb. ground beef
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1/4 tsp. garlic salt
    2 c. shredded Cheddar cheese
    2 Tbsp. butter
    2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
    1 (4 oz.) can mushrooms
Preparation
    Cook macaroni until tender.
    Melt 1/4 cup of butter in skillet; saute onions and beef with seasonings until meat is brown, stirring often with fork.
    Add 1 1/3 cups of cheese to meat mixture; stir until melted.
    Remove from heat.
    Mix 2 tablespoons of butter with macaroni.
    Add meat mixture, 1 1/2 cans tomato sauce and mushrooms and mix well.
    Pour into a 2-quart casserole.
    Top with remaining tomato sauce and cheese.
    Bake at 325\u00b0 for 30 minutes.
