Scones - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3 c. sifted flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
3/4 c. shortening
1 c. buttermilk
Preparation

Sift dry ingredients together. Cut in shortening. Add buttermilk and mix.
Roll dough out 1/2-inch thick and cut into about 2 1/2-inch rounds. Cook on well-greased moderately hot griddle for 4 to 5 minutes on each side or bake them at 450\u00b0 for 15 minutes.
