Charlie'S Beef Stroganoff - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. butter
    1 clove garlic, minced
    4 shallots, minced
    1 medium onion, chopped
    6 mushrooms, sliced
    1 bay leaf
    2 1/2 Tbsp. flour
    6 Tbsp. tomato sauce
    2 c. hot beef broth
    1 1/2 lb. beef tenderloin ends
    salt and pepper
    1 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
    1/2 c. sherry
    dash of hot pepper sauce
    1/4 c. sour cream
    2 Tbsp. chopped chives
    steamed rice
Preparation
    Melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a saucepan.
    Add garlic, shallots, onion, mushrooms and bay leaf.
    Saute vegetables until tender, but not browned.
    Discard bay leaf.
    Stir in flour until well blended.
    Add tomato sauce and hot broth.
    Stir until well blended.
    Cook until smooth and slightly thickened.
    Reduce heat and simmer 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
