Green Beans A La Peggy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (No. 303) can Blue Lake variety green beans
    1 Tbsp. bacon drippings
    1 clove garlic
    1 small onion
    1/4 stick butter
    1/4 c. broken pecan pieces
    1/4 c. bread crumbs
Preparation
    Saute chopped onions and garlic in bacon drippings.
    Add drained green beans and 1/2 can of water.
    Cook in saucepan over low heat for 1 hour.
    Make the topping from melted butter, bread crumbs and pecans, stirring constantly over low heat.
    Put in serving dish and sprinkle topping over heated beans, but the topping does not need to be hot when served.
    Serves 4.
