Carrot-Cheese Scallop - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. carrots, sliced
    1/2 c. water
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 Tbsp. butter
    2 Tbsp. flour
    1 c. milk
    1 c. Cheddar cheese, grated
    1 (3 1/2 oz.) can French-fried onions
Preparation
    In medium saucepan, cook carrots 5 minutes in salted water. Drain.
    Set aside.
    In a saucepan, over medium heat, melt butter and stir in flour slowly.
    Gradually add milk, stirring constantly, until sauce thickens.
    Add cheese and stir until melted.
