Heavenly Gingerbread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. shortening
1/2 c. sugar
1 egg
2 1/2 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. ginger
1/2 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. salt
1 c. hot water
1 c. molasses
Preparation

Cream together the shortening and sugar.
Add egg and beat well.
Sift together the flour, soda, cinnamon, ginger, cloves and salt.
Combine water and molasses.
Add to creamed mixture, then add flour mixture.
Turn into greased 9 x 9-inch pan.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 45 to 50 minutes.
