Red Velvet Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. oleo or shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. butter flavor
2 (1/2 oz.) bottles red color (1 oz.)
3 Tbsp. cocoa (level)
2 1/2 c. sifted cake flour
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. salt
1 Tbsp. vinegar
1 tsp. soda
Preparation

Cream butter, sugar, eggs and flavors.
Make paste of cocoa and food color.
Add to first mixture.
Alternately add flour and buttermilk.
Mix soda and vinegar in small bowl; add to batter and blend.
Bake in 3 (9 or 10-inch) pans for 20 to 25 minutes at 350\u00b0 or in a 9 x 13-inch pan for 30 to 35 minutes at 350\u00b0.
Let cool completely.
Cover with frosting of your choice.
