Peanut Brittle - cooking recipe

3 c. sugar
1 c. water
1 lb. shelled peanuts
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. white syrup
1/4 c. margarine
1 Tbsp. soda
Preparation

Cook
3
cups
of
sugar, white syrup and water to soft cracks stage; add margarine and nuts, mix well together before cooking again, then cook to soft crack stage (280\u00b0).
Add soda and vanilla; stir and spread rapidly on buttered cookie sheet. Cool. Break into pieces.
