Mother'S Flemish Beef Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. lean beef
    3 onions
    1 carrot
    2/3 qt. water
    1 Tbsp. wine vinegar
    sprinkle of thyme
    1 large bay leaf
    salt and pepper to taste
    flour
    oil for browning beef
Preparation
    Cut meat into 2 to 3-inch pieces.
    Dust with flour; saute in oil.
    Add chopped onions and carrot; brown lightly.
    Add water and seasonings.
    The meat should be covered.
    Simmer covered for 2 hours or until tender.
    Serve with boiled potatoes.
    Serves 6.
