Brownies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. shortening
    1 c. brown sugar
    1 egg
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    3/4 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. soda
    2 c. rolled oats
    6 oz. chocolate chips
    1 Tbsp. butter
    1 can Eagle Brand milk
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. nuts
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Mix shortening, brown sugar, egg, 1/2 teaspoon vanilla, flour, 1/2 teaspoon salt, soda and rolled oats.
    Place half of this mixture in a 9 x 13-inch pan.
