Old Time Pound Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter
    2 c. sugar
    4 egg yolks
    3 c. sifted flour
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1 c. milk
    1/2 tsp. lemon extract
    1 tsp. lemon rind
    1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Cream butter and sugar.
    Add egg yolks, one at a time, and beat well after each addition.
    Sift together sifted flour, salt and baking powder; add alternately with milk.
    Add lemon extract and lemon rind.
    Last, fold in the stiffly beaten egg whites. Bake at 350\u00b0 in loaf pan for 45 minutes.
