Baked "Apple Doughnut" Muffins - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 1/2 c. sifted flour
1 3/4 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 c. sugar
1/3 c. shortening
1 egg, beaten
1/4 c. milk
1/3 c. raw apple, grated
1/2 c. melted butter
1/3 c. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
Preparation

Sift flour, baking powder, salt, nutmeg and 1/2 cup sugar. Cut in shortening until mix is fine.
Mix egg, milk and apple; add to dry ingredients at once.
Mix quickly and thoroughly.
Fill greased muffin tins 2/3 full.
Bake at 325\u00b0 to 350\u00b0 for 20 to 25 minutes until lightly browned.
Mix 1/3 cup sugar and cinnamon. Roll muffins in mixture.
Makes 12 muffins.
