Gingerbread Cake - cooking recipe

3/4 c. sugar
3/4 c. molasses
3/4 c. liquid egg substitute
1/2 c. buttermilk
1/4 c. melted corn-oil margarine
2 3/4 c. unbleached all-purpose flour
1 Tbsp. baking soda
1 Tbsp. ground ginger
2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1 tsp. ground cloves
1 tsp. ground or freshly grated nutmeg
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/4 c. boiling water
powdered sugar or light whipped topping (optional)
Preparation

Preheat oven to 350\u00b0.
Generously spray a 10-inch tube pan with nonstick vegetable coating; set aside.
Beat sugar, molasses, egg substitute, buttermilk and margarine in large mixer bowl until smooth.
