Surprise Meringues - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 egg whites
    1/8 tsp. cream of tartar
    1/8 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. vanilla
    3/4 cup of sugar
    6 oz. package semi-sweet chocolate bits
    1/2 cup chopped nuts
Preparation
    In large bowl beat to soft peaks 2 egg whites, 1/8 tsp. cream of tartar, 1/8 tsp. of salt and 1 tsp of vanilla.
    Gradually add 3/4 cup sugar and beat until stiff.
    Fold in 6 oz. package of semi-sweet chocolate bits and 1/2 cup chopped nuts.
    Drop by tsp. on greased cookie sheet.
    Bake 25 minutes at 300 degrees.
    Makes 1 1/2 dozen.
