Buttery Caramel Corn - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    14 c. popped popcorn
    1/4 c. light corn syrup
    1 c. brown sugar
    1/2 c. butter
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 tsp. baking soda
    peanuts (optional)
Preparation
    Put popcorn in large paper grocery bag. Combine in 2 qt bowl butter, salt, brown sugar, corn syrup. Microwave 2 minutes and stir. Microwave 3 minutes more, stirring after each minute. Add vanilla and soda. Stir and pour over popcorn and peanuts, if desired, in bag. Microwave 1 minute, shake well and repeat. Pour onto cookie sheet and let cool. Store in air tight container.
