Spanish Rice - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 medium onion, chopped
    1 medium green pepper, chopped
    1/4 c. bacon grease
    1 1/2 c. washed uncooked rice
    1 (28 oz.) can tomatoes
    2 1/2 c. water
    1/4 lb. bacon, fried crisp and crumbled
    1 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. pepper
Preparation
    Saute onion and pepper lightly.
    Set aside.
    Add rice and brown, stirring often.
    Reduce heat; add remaining ingredients and simmer, covered, for 30 to 35 minutes or until most of liquid is gone and rice is tender.
