Cherry Torte - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. butter or margarine (1/4 lb.)
    1 1/4 c. flour
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    1 pkg. vanilla pudding
    1 can sour cherries
    2 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1/4 c. sugar
Preparation
    Mix flour and 2 tablespoons sugar; cut in margarine.
    Press into a 9 x 6-inch pan; bake in hot (400\u00b0) oven until golden brown, about 25 minutes.
    Make pudding as directed on package.
    When cool, but not set, spread on crust.
    Heat cherries.
    Add sugar mixed with cornstarch; stir constantly until thickened.
    Cool slightly; spread on top of pudding.
    Top with whipped cream. Serves 8.
