Orange Slice Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients

2 sticks butter
2 c. sugar
4 eggs
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. soda
1/4 tsp. salt
3 1/2 c. plain flour
1/2 lb. dates, chopped
1 lb. orange candy, sliced
2 c. pecans
1 c. coconut

Preparation

Flour dates and orange slices; set aside.
Cream butter and sugar.
Add eggs, one at a time.
Add buttermilk with soda. Gradually add dates and orange slices to creamed mixture; makes very stiff dough.
Grease and flour tube pan.
Bake at 275\u00b0 for 2 1/2 hours.
