Red Cabbage - German Style - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. red cabbage, finely shredded
    2 oz. vegetable oil
    1 large onion, diced
    2 Tbsp. vinegar
    1/4 c. water or wine
    1 large Pippin apple, peeled and diced
    1 tsp. sugar
    1 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. cornstarch
Preparation
    In a 12-inch skillet, saute onion in oil.
    Add cabbage and turn until all cabbage is coated with oil and shiny.
    Add vinegar, water or wine and diced apple.
    Turn down heat; cover and simmer for 5 to 10 minutes.
    Before serving, add spices.
    Mix cornstarch with enough water to dissolve.
    Add to cabbage and mix well. Serves 4.
