Molasses Cream Taffy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. molasses
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 c. whipping cream
    1/2 tsp. soda
Preparation
    Mix molasses and sugar in a saucepan and bring to boiling point.
    Add the thick cream, reduce flame to low heat (265\u00b0) and continue cooking until a sample makes a hard ball when put in cold water.
    Add the soda and beat until thick.
    Pour onto a buttered platter.
    As edges cool, turn into center.
    When cool enough to handle, pull until light colored and stiff enough to hold its shape.
    Cut into small pieces.
