Cream Christmas Eggnog - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    8 eggs, separated
    1 c. sugar
    6 c. milk
    6 tsp. vanilla or almond extract
    2 c. Cool Whip
    2 tsp. nutmeg
    1/2 gal. vanilla ice cream
    1 qt. bought eggnog (optional)
Preparation
    Beat egg whites until soft peaks form.
    Add egg yolks; beat well.
    Gradually add sugar; mix well.
    Add milk and flavoring; mix well.
    Fold Cool Whip into eggnog.
    Sprinkle with nutmeg.
    Add quart eggnog (optional).
    Cut ice cream in half.
    Place in punch bowl.
    Pour eggnog mixture over ice cream and serve.
    Yields 24 to 30 cups.
