Sugar Nuts - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
    1/2 c. sour cream
    2 c. walnuts or mixed nuts
    1/2 c. granulated sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Combine both sugars and sour cream in a medium saucepan.
    Cook over medium heat, stirring until sugar is dissolved.
    Continue cooking without stirring to 238\u00b0 on candy thermometer or until a little cold water forms a soft ball.
    Remove from heat.
    Add vanilla and nuts.
    Stir gently until all nuts are coated.
    Turn out onto waxed paper.
    Separate with a fork; let dry.
    Makes about 1 pound.
