Apfelbitte - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3 c. flour
1 egg
1 c. butter or margarine
1 c. sugar
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 lemon (rind and juice)
vanilla, sugar or extract
6 to 8 apples, grated
1 egg yolk, beaten
Preparation

Make dough from above ingredients.
Grate 6 to 8 apples.
Add sugar to taste.
Roll out dough (cold dough).
Place 1/2 dough in pan; prick.
Add apples.
Cover with rest of dough.
Close sides like a pie.
Prick with fork.
Brush with beaten egg yolk.
Bake 35 minutes or until light brown.
