Hard Christmas Candy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. sugar
    1 c. water
    1 c. light corn syrup
    1 tsp. desired flavoring oil
    desired food coloring
    powdered sugar
Preparation
    Mix first 3 ingredients in large heavy saucepan.
    Stir over medium heat until sugar dissolves.
    Boil without stirring, until temperature reaches 300\u00b0.
    Remove from heat.
    Stir in oil and coloring.
    Pour into well-greased cookie sheet.
    Let cool and crack.
    Cover with powdered sugar by placing in a paper bag and shaking.
    Store in airtight container.
