Heavenly Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. granulated sugar
    1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
    4 egg whites
    4 egg yolks
    1/4 c. granulated sugar
    1 Tbsp. grated lemon rind
    3 Tbsp. lemon juice
    1/8 tsp. salt
    2 c. heavy cream
Preparation
    Sift sugar and cream of tartar.
    Beat egg whites until stiff, not dry.
    Add sugar mixture slowly, until stiff, glossy peaks. Spread over bottom and sides of a well-greased 9-inch pie plate, bottom 1/4-inch thick, sides 1-inch thick.
    Bake for 1 hour at 275\u00b0, or until brown.
    Cool away from drafts (will crack).
    Open oven door and let cool in oven about 1 hour.
