Ingredients

3/4 c. shortening
1 c. sugar (white or brown; I use brown)
2 eggs
1/4 c. sorghum
3 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. ginger
2 tsp. cinnamon
Preparation

Mix shortening and sugar; add eggs and sorghum.
Sift together flour, soda and spices and add to mixture.
Chill dough a few hours or overnight.
Roll into balls the size of walnuts.
Dip in sugar and place on ungreased cookie sheet.
Flatten balls. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 10 minutes.
