Light Baked Beans - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. beans
    8 c. water
    1/2 lb. bacon, cut into pieces
    1/3 c. packed brown sugar
    1/4 c. chili sauce
    1 Tbsp. chopped onion
    1 Tbsp. prepared mustard
    1 tsp. salt
    1/8 tsp. pepper
Preparation
    Wash beans.
    Cover with 4 cups water and let stand 2 hours. Drain.
    Combine beans and 4 cups water in large pan and simmer, covered, about 1 hour.
    Fry bacon with onion.
    In bean pot or ovenproof dish, combine beans with liquid and rest of ingredients including bacon grease.
    Cook and bake for 2 1/2 to 3 hours at 350\u00b0 until beans are tender.
    Stir occasionally, adding water if necessary.
    Remove cover last 30 minutes to brown; do not stir. Serves 6 to 8 people.
