Ingredients

3/4 c. sugar (save 1/4 c. sugar for meringue)
2 Tbsp. flour
1/4 tsp. salt
2 c. milk
3 eggs, separated
1 tsp. vanilla
6 ripe bananas, sliced
vanilla wafers
Preparation

Combine sugar, flour and salt.
Stir in milk.
Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly while cooking, until thickened.
Beat egg yolks.
Stir into thickened mixture.
Cook another five minutes. Add vanilla.
Set aside.
Line bowl with vanilla wafers.
Add layer of sliced bananas.
Pour pudding mixture over top.
Top with meringue after pudding has cooled.
