Butternut Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 c. sugar
1 c. Crisco
5 eggs
1 c. buttermilk
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1 Tbsp. \"Superior\" butter and nut flavoring
Preparation

Cream sugar, eggs and Crisco.
Beat 5 minutes at a high speed and
reduce
to low speed.
Sift flour, soda and baking powder; add
alternately with buttermilk and flavoring.
Pour batter into three 9-inch layer pans that have been greased and floured.
Bake at
350\u00b0 for 30 minutes.
Frost with Butternut Cake Frosting.
