Boiled Icing - cooking recipe

Ingredients

1 1/2 c. granulated sugar
1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
2/3 c. boiling water
2 egg whites, beaten stiff

Preparation

Boil to soft ball stage.
Pour syrup over beaten egg whites, beating constantly.
Continue beating until stiff enough to spread.
