Dixie Peanut Brittle - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1 c. corn syrup
    1/2 c. water
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
    4 c. raw shelled peanuts
    2 tsp. soda
Preparation
    In heavy saucepan, combine sugar, syrup, water and salt.
    Heat to a rolling boil.
    Add peanuts.
    Reduce heat to medium.
    Cook until syrup will spin a thread (or 293\u00b0).
    Add butter, then soda; beat rapidly.
    Pour on buttered cookie sheet.
    Spread to 1/4-inch thickness.
    When cool, break into pieces.
