Boston Drop Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. margarine, softened
    1 1/2 c, flour
    1 tsp. vanilla extract
    small bottle of red and green maraschino cherries
    2/3 c. sugar
    1/2 tsp. salt
    2 eggs
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
Preparation
    Cream sugar and margarine until smooth.
    Blend in eggs and mix.
    Add flour, salt, baking powder and vanilla extract.
    Beat until well blended.
    Drop by rounded teaspoons onto ungreased cookie sheet.
    Cut the cherries into halves and place a half on each cookie.
    Bake at 375 degrees for 10 minutes.
    Remove from oven and cool on cookie racks.
    Remove from cookie sheet to cookie rack.
