Caramel Frosting - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. Sugar, plus 1/2 c.
    1 stick Oleo, sliced
    Dash of Salt
    1 tsp. White Corn Syrup
    1 c. Whipping Cream
    1 tsp. Vanilla
Preparation
    Measure sugar, oleo, salt, corn syrup and whipping cream into saucepan with straight sides. Stir gently to mix and start heating.
    Keep the heat moderate.
    Put the other 1/2 c. sugar into iron skillet.
    Heat over moderate heat until caramelized.
    Pour into the boiling mixture.
    Cook 7 minutes or until it forms a soft ball in cold water.
